Julius Indongo

Julius Indongo won the WBO Africa junior welterweight title in stunning style with a second round TKO of James Onyango of Kenya on Friday evening.

Indongo sent Onyango crashing to the canvas with a left hook and although the Kenyan managed to beat the count, he was clearly unsteady on his feet and the referee called an end to the fight after 29 seconds of the second round.

In the main bout Tyson Ushona easily beat Pascal Bruno of Kenya on a unanimous points decision over 10 rounds in an international welterweight encounter.

Tobias calling on sponsors

Nestor Tobias

Namibian boxing promoter Nestor Tobias has vowed to take boxing to the next level in Namibia despite the fact that local boxing is still struggling to raise sufficient sponsorships.

Tobias will be hosting his fourth professional tournament of the year at the Windhoek Country Club on Saturday evening, but like two of the previous three, he still does not have a sponsor for the event and will have to foot the bill from the ticket sales and out of his own pocket.

Tobias was however still hopeful of finding a sponsor and called on the corporate world to come on board.
