Western Suburbs remained at the top of the MTC Rugby Premier League after an emphatic 44-21 victory against United at Suburbs Park on Saturday.
The teams were still tied 13-all at halftime, but Suburbsâ?? took control of the game with their expansive running rugby to run in a total of seven tries for a comfortable victory.

It was only Falconâ??s second match of the season but they scored five tries to collect a bonus point and are now on 10 points after two matches.

Last Saturday they beat Premier League newcomers Jaguars 25-13 at Augustineum to strengthen their lead at the top of the log with 18 points after four matches.

But it was not a very convincing display against the Premier League newcomers who held their own for most parts of the game, while the match was also disrupted by several dangerous foul tackles.

The Koreans started the match in a confident mood and it was quite clear from the early exchanges that they would provide Namibia, the favourites, with a tough challenge. While the Korean ball control improved in leaps and bounds from the outset of the tournament and to a large extent secured the continuity of their attacks, it was the slick passing and the timed release of the ball in the tackle that kept them going.

According to the International Rugby Boardâ??s website (www.irb.com), Namibia took control of the match early on through a dominant forward display to run out convincing winners and book a place in Sundayâ??s fifth place play off.

Suburbsâ?? young winger Gregory Stein was the hero, scoring 17 points via two tries, two conversions and a great penalty from the halfway line.
Namibia lose to Chile

It was their second successive defeat after they lost 28-26 to Romania on Wednesday and with one group match remaining against wooden-spoonists the Cook Islands, Namibia will now have to fight it out to avoid coming last in the group.
