Western Suburbs will meet Wanderers in the semifinals of the MTC Premier League at the Hage Geingob Rugby Stadium this weekend.
Western Suburbs managed to claim the final semifinal spot when they beat Unam 23-0 at Suburbs Park on September 8. The victory saw them edging Unam into fourth spot on the log with 16 points, while Unam dropped down to fifth spot on 15 points.

No one had given Namibia a chance against one of the favourites for the World Cup, but Namibia rose to the occasion with a memorable and inspired performance.

The students gave a great performance against Suburbs, on their home ground at Suburbs Park, and in fact dominated the set pieces in the first half. They had the upper hand in the scrums, winning two tight heads in the first half, but their backline wasted possession with far too many handling errors.

Thompson banned for two years

The IRB issued a statement on September 3, saying that Thompson had been tested positive for an anabolic steroid after a random doping test on December 18, 2006.

Wanderers gain revenge against Suburbs

It was the first time that the two sides had met since their first round match, three months ago to the day, was postponed. That match was postponed when Wanderers obtained a court interdict to prevent the first round final between Suburbs and Reho Falcon from taking place, after Wanderers claimed that some Suburbs players were not correctly registered.
Springboks hammer Namibia 105-13

South Africa were just too powerful and slick for a game Namibia who hardly got any possession and had to defend for most of the match.
