A 10-man Namibia pulled off a major shock to beat South Africa 1-0 in a menâ??s soccer match at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on June 28.
Namibia were reduced to 10 men in the 25th minute when star striker Lazarus Kaimbi was sent off after receiving a second yellow card. Before that Kaimbi had caused havoc down the right wing with his penetrating runs and his loss was a major blow for the home team.

South Africa were far too strong for Swaziland, dropping just two games in four matches.

Namibia took an early 12-6 lead at the end of the first quarter, and went into halftime with a healthy 24-13 lead. Zambia did well to match Namibia after the break with the third quarter score being 35-24 in Namibiaâ??s favour.
Zimbabwe thrash Botswana

With post player Alexandra Maseko in great form, Zimbabwe took control of the match from the start to take a 22-10 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Acrimonious end to pulsating game

The move followed after Mogwada verbally assaulted the referee from the sidelines for perceived poor officiating.

Namibia held the upper hand from the start, taking a 11-3 lead after the first quarter. With goal shooter Moa Shipetekera in great form, Namibia continued to rake in the goals to take a halftime lead of 21-6.
Namibia beat Botswana in basketball

With Kornelia Nainda in great form in both attack and defence, Namibia took a 14-4 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Zambia beat Namibia in Games opener

Zambian striker Noria Sosala was dangerous early on, hitting the crossbar with one shot and forcing a fine save by Namibian goalie Lydia Eixas from another.

He said that the SADC member states recognised the value of sport in national and regional development, adding that it had now become a booming industry.
