Lesotho makes clean sweep against Angola

The Lesotho tennis team shut out the Angolans at the Central Tennis Courts in Windhoek, Namibia on June 30 to win the tie 4-0.
In the first match of the day, Lesotho's Pinki Montla beat Angolan Neusa Sousa 7-5, 6-1.

Namibia beat Botswana in thriller

Namibiaâ??s Under 20 netball team beat Botswana 44-38 in a pulsating semifinal at the Katutura Multipurpose Youth Centre on June 30.
Their opponents in the final will be South Africa, who beat Zambia in the other semifinal.

Mozambique thrash Lesotho

Mozambiqueâ??s womenâ??s Under 20 basketball team continued their march to the final when they thrashed Lesotho 155-28 at the SADC Youth Games on June 30.
Mozambiqueâ??s players were far taller and faster than their Lesotho opponents and dominated from the start.

South Africa thump Swaziland

South Africa beat Swaziland 5-1, after leading 3-0 at halftime in a menâ??s soccer match at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on June 29.
The victory put South Africaâ??s campaign back on track after they suffered a 1-0 defeat against Namibia the previous day.

South Africa demolish hapless Namibia

South Africaâ??s Under 20 women's soccer team thrashed their Namibian counterparts 6-0 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on June 29.
In a game that markedly underlined the differences in class and quality between the two country's female footballing structures, the talented South Africans were already 3-0 up at half-time and could easily have scored more had some easy chances not been squandered.

Zambia ends Mozambique's hopes

A confident Zambian men's Under 20 soccer team ended Mozambique's hopes of advancing beyond the first round at the Zone VI Youth Games when they cruised to a 4-0 win at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on June 29.

Four countries still unbeaten

South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Botswana remained unbeaten after the second day of the tennis tournament at the SADC Youth Games on June 29.
South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe all recorded easy wins, but Botswana had to pull out all the stops to beat Lesotho.

South Africa on course for final

South Africaâ??s netball team remained on course for the final after beating Swaziland 51-35 at the SADC Youth Games on June 29.
Swaziland gave a spirited display and were not overawed. Their tall goal shooter Winile Manyatsi was accurate in front of goals, while their centre and captain Lebsile Msibi initiated many attacks.

Zimbabwe outplay Namibia

Namibiaâ??s basketball team suffered their first defeat at the SADC Youth Games when they were comprehensively outplayed by Zimbabwe on June 29.
Zimbabwe won the match 113-50 to record their second victory and remain unbeaten in the tournament.

Hiccups and shortcomings to be expected

According to the local organising committee chairperson of the Zone VI Youth Games currently underway in Windhoek, Namibia, the organisational â??hiccupsâ? and shortcomings experienced so far were to be expected.
