During the Inter-School Tournament hosted by the ReiterVerein Swakopmund, the organizers announced the eight Coastal League youth members, who were selected to participate at an official International Showjumping tournament in Germany later this year.

The tournament will take place in Muenchehofe (Landkreis Brandenburg), near Berlin from 5-8, 2013 Septembe and is being organised as a joint venture between the Equestrian Coastal League and the LRV Muenchehofe e.V.

Swakopmund win Inter School Equestrian Tournament

Sun, fun, action and good sportsmanship filled the first Inter-School Equestrian Tournament, which was hosted by the ReiterVerein Swakopmund last weekend.

With over 60 entries from 15 national schools, the challenging tournament kicked-off with the Dressage events on Saturday morning.

The definite highlight was the Children and Junior Elementary tests, which received excellent support from riders and spectators alike.

For many hours, riders of the International School Walvis Bay (ISWB) were in the lead, followed by the Private School Swakopmund. (PSS)

Swakopmund Inter-School Equestrian Tournament

Only seven weeks after the very successful Swakopmund Showjumping Tournament in January, the RVS (ReitVerein Swakopmund) Youth Committee will this weekend host the first Inter-School Equestrian tournament in Namibia, since the early 90’s.

The Inter-School tournament is open for youth riders only. Riders will participate as school teams, accumulating points for their respective schools through their podium placements.

The points from all the riders of their schools will determine the winning school at the end of the tournament.

RVS hosts 56th annual Showjumping tournament

The Reiterverein Swakopmund (RVS) hosted their 56th annual Show Jumping, Dressage and Equitation tournament on the RVS Sports Grounds from January 5 to 13.

This tournament, which annually takes place in January, enjoyed over 120 national entries and was supported by 137 sponsors.

With a good atmosphere and excellent weather conditions, this prestigious tournament started with the various Dressage events on Saturday morning.

Sphinxblick Eventing Tournament

The very successful anniversary and memorial Sphinxblick Eventing tournament, hosted by the ReiterVerein Swakopmund (RVS), was held on December 1 and 2 on the Sphinxblick Stud near Usakos.

For the fifth time, Wesbank Transport supported the tournament as the main sponsor. The tournament was dedicated to the late Melvyn van Rooyen, who was a great supporter of the RVS.

The tournament has been growing annually and this year drew 38 competitors.

Kunzle, Kotze win Six Bar event

Michelle Kunzle on her horse Metzger Drilling Zambezi and Charl Kotze on Castro Neu-Heusis were the joint winners of the Six Bar Show Jumping event which took place at the Windhoek Show on Saturday.

The annual event that was sponsored by Bank Windhoek took place at the Bank Windhoek Agra Ring Arena and provided high tension and excitement for the 1 000-odd spectators in attendance.

Eight riders and horses started the event and they had to negotiate six obstacles on lower levels, starting at 1,00 meter.

Rohl is top adult rider

Alexandra Rohl was the most successful adult rider at the Namibian Dressage and Jumping Championships which were hosted by Reitclub Okahandja on September 7 to 9.

National Advanced Dressage Champion is Alexandra Röhl, the Novice class was won by Sylvia Kleyenstüber, and Svenja Spaeth took the honours in the Children’s Dressage class with Sheena Dürr as runner-up.

Okahandja Showjumping and Dressage Tourney

The Reit Club Okahandja will present their annual show jumping and dressage tournament from Friday, September 7 to Sunday, September 9.

The highlight of the tournament will be the FNB Namibian Show Jumping Championships.

These will be ridden over heights ranging from 90cm to 1,30m, while the riders and horses will qualify by taking part in three different competitions.

Rack wins Class A at FEI Challenge

Alexa Rack and her horse Capital Casarey were the winners of Class A at the FEI World Jumping Challenge which took place at the Gymkhana Club in Windhoek over the weekend.

Rack had a great weekend, producing three clear rounds and seemed to be heading for a faultless display. But in an agonising finish, Capital Casarey knocked over the final obstacle of the fourth and final round on Monday, with the result that she finished with a total of four faults and a total time of 126,29 seconds.

Rohl wins dressage championships

Alexandra Rohl won the Namibia National Dressage Championships in the Advanced Class Championship category. The championships were held at the Reitverein Swakopmund at the coast on 27 and 28 September.

Rohl won the championship while she was riding her horse Alpha So Cool. In second place was Dagnar Kubirske on her horse General Tack Shop Momo.

Silke Kuberske who was riding Okakambe Fury won the Novice Championship with Raquel Mendes as the runner up with her horse Spinxblick Maggie.
