Otjiwarongo Football Club dominated a junior soccer tournament in Windhoek on Saturday, winning both the Under 15 and Under 17 competitions.
The tournament was organized and hosted by St Paulâ??s College and saw school teams and soccer academies competing in the two age group categories.

Arrows collected maximum points after beating Tigers 3-0 and Ramblers 2-1 in Walvis Bay over the weekend, to move up four places up to fourth position on the log. They now have 25 points from 17 matches, but there is a sizeable gap between them and third-placed Ramblers, who are on 33 points from 19 matches.

Stars had the better chances but could not round them off and the game seemed to be heading for a draw when Louw struck two minutes into injury time with a great freekick that hit the right hand corner of the net.

The match seemed to be heading to a goalless draw when Civics were awarded a freekick about 30m out and Louw stepped to send a cracking shot flying into the right hand corner.
Civics move three points clear

Their closest rivals Ramblers lost 2-1 against Eleven Arrows in Walvis Bay, to move down to third position on 32 points from 18 matches. Civics lead the log with 36 points from 16 matches.

Submitted by editor on Sat, 04/14/2007 - 21:14.Civics moved a step closer to retaining the MTC Namibia Premier League title with an emphatic 3-0 victory against Cymot SKW on Saturday.
Civics created numerous scoring chances in the first half but could not find the target. Striker Geoffrey Roman came close, shooting wide after a great throughball by Rudi Louw, while he had another shot cleared for a corner. Louw also chipped narrowly over the goals after beating the defence.
Civics looking for third title

Civics currently lead the log with 33 points from 15 matches, just a point ahead of Kingsley Ramblers, but with two games in hand. After this weekendâ??s matches most teams will only have three matches remaining in the league and if Civics collect maximum points they will be virtually unstoppable.

The match formed part of the Namibian Newspaper Cup festivities and the Brave Warriors didnâ??t disappoint with an efficient performance.
Swakopmund book ticket to Norway

Swakopmund had most of the possession, and spurred on by a vocal home crowd at the Vineta Stadium, they ran out deserved winners to take the cup and book a ticket to Norway. Swakopmund will now join other teams from around the world to participate in the Norway Cup in August, one of the biggest youth sport festivals in the world.
