Bierbrauer takes top honours

Bjorn Bierbrauer took top honours at the fifth leg of the Bank Windhoek Enduro Championships in Aranos on Saturday.

In the Class 2 Open Bikes category, Bierbrauer beat Ingo Waldschmidt into second place while Heiko Hennes came third.

During the race, the fifth in the 2010 series, the riders had to cover four laps of the 44km circuit. A mixture of red dunes, loose gravel and hills challenged the riders who had to keep up their concentration and momentum throughout.

The Windhoek Motor Club Enduro Working Group is staging the fifth of seven Motorcycle Enduro racing events in the Bank Windhoek National Enduro Series for 2010 on Saturday, 7 August. The Aranos Enduro will start at 7h00 from the hall of the Aranos Farmers Association (AFA). The AFA Hall is in Aranos, giving spectators an excellent opportunity to view all the competitors and their machines.

Bierbrauer wins fourth Enduro race

Bjorn Bierbrauer won the Open Class of the Bank Windhoek Namibia Motor Sport Federation (NMSF) Enduro Championships which took place at Farm Aris, south of Windhoek on Saturday.

A big turnout of 58 riders participated in the championships, the fourth in the 2010 series, which was co-sponsored by Louis van der Merwe Construction.

The Windhoek Motor Club Enduro Working Group is staging the fourth of seven Motorcycle Enduro racing events for 2010 on 24 July. Louis van der Merwe Construction will co-sponsor this endurance race in the Bank Windhoek National Enduro Series, which will take place at Aris Farm in the Windhoek District.

The Windhoek Motocross Club will be hosting the fifth championship round of the Moto and Quad Cross at the Elephant’s Drinking Hole in Gobabis on Saturday July 10.

For the first time in three years motocross will return to the eastern capital of Namibia for the locals to enjoy the thrills and spills of the sport.

Behnke makes successful return

Michael Behnke made a successful return to Enduro Racing to win the Open Quad Class at the third round of the Bank Windhoek National Enduro Championships on Saturday, June 26.

Behnke dominated the race which was co-sponsored by Propshaft Engineering and took place at the Omakwara Farm in the Witvlei district, to finish well ahead of second placed Jaco Snyman and Andre Basson who came third.

The day was a big success, with some exciting racing and a record number of entrants.

The Windhoek Motor Club, in conjunction with event sponsor Propshaft Engineering, will stage the third of seven Motorcycle Enduro racing events in the 2010 Bank Windhoek National Enduro Championship at Farm Omakwara in the Witvlei district on June 26.

“Bank Windhoek is excited to sponsor this event and to support the endurance sport in Namibia. I call on motor sport enthusiasts to witness this action packed and spectator friendly event”, Bank Windhoek’s Head of Corporate Communication and Social Investment, Riaan van Rooyen said.

There was a lot of action at the Gallina Motocross Park on Saturday with Bjorn Bierbrauer winning in the MX1 450 Class.

Bierbrauer came back from vacation to beat Tommi Gous and J.P Hugo who came in second and third respectively.

Bierbrauer also won the King of the Dirt while Tommi and Ruhan Gous came second and third.

The MX2 250 was a tight affair with Ruhan Gous scraping to win with just one point ahead of second placed Jaco Loots and third placed Henry O’Kennedy.

On Saturday, the 12th of June, the Windhoek Motocross Club will be hosting the fourth leg of their MEQcross championship at the Gallina Motocross Park 20 kilometres outside of Windhoek on the Okahandja road.

The motocross and quadcross that the fans have become accustomed to will once again be augmented with Endurocross action. At the last MEQcross event this new Endurocross format sponsored by Bothma Roads was a huge success, to the extent that more riders have also committed to participating and it seems to be going from strength to strength.
