South Africa & Angola qualify for AAG
Submitted by newsdesk on Mon, 03/21/2011 - 16:44.The South African men and women’s teams were the winners of the Bank Windhoek Zone VI Beach Volleyball All Africa Games Qualifiers (AAG) which were held in Swakopmund at the Mole Beach from 19 to 21 March.
The South African teams beat Angola in the finals to claim the gold medal. Namibia finished third, Mozambique fourth and Zimbabwe last.
Both South Africa and Angola qualified for the AAG, which are due to be held in Mozambique in September.
Namibia finish third in volleyball qualifier
Submitted by newsdesk on Sun, 03/20/2011 - 16:50.Namibia finished third after beating Zimbabwe at the Zone VI All Africa Games (AAG) qualifiers currently taking place at Swakopmund’s Mole Beach.
The Namibian ladies beat the Zimbabweans 4-0 to finish as the bronze medallists after they lost to South Africa in the semi finals on Saturday.
In the first match of the day, Namibia A (Lizette Rottcher and Julia Laggner) beat Zimbabwe B (Nomatter Mbiza and Viola Muchaona) 21-14, 21-19. They then went on to beat the Zimbabwe A side of Vuyiswa Ndlomo and Yeukai Mukurumbira 21-18, 21-10.
