A total of 19 Namibian athletes have qualified for the 2012 World Biathle Championships which will take place in Dubai, starting on November 3.
The athletes qualified at the South African 2012 Biathle Championships which recently took place in Bloemfontein.
Because biathle was new to Namibia, it was required to qualify for the World Championships at a sanctioned event held by an established national federation, hence the necessity to compete in South Africa.
Biathle is similar to triathlon but just consists of one swimming and two running legs, while excluding cycling.
