Basson lauds team
Submitted by editor on Tue, 06/18/2013 - 07:17.The president of the Namibia Rugby Union, Bradley Basson praised Namibia’s national rugby team for their discipline and commitment, after they beat Tunisia 45-13 in the final of the CAR Division 1B Cup on Saturday.
“The final against Tunisia was a big challenge for us, but I can tell you the guys were disciplined and very well prepared for that match and I believe the discipline and commitment helped them through that match," he said.
Rugby champions return home
Submitted by editor on Tue, 06/18/2013 - 07:14.Namibia’s national rugby team returned home to a heroes welcome at the Hosea Kutako International Airport on Monday, with their participation at the 2015 Rugby World Cup still firmly on track.
A small crowd of mostly family and friends was on hand to welcome the players and management back as they entered the arrival hall with the CAR Africa Division 1B trophy firmly in their grasp, after Namibia beat Tunisia 45-13 in a stormy final in Senegal on Saturday.
Classic Clashes action at the coast

Namib High School and De Duine met at the Vineta Sports Field while Swakop Secondary School and Costal High School met at the Mondesa field.
Namib High School beat De Duine 3-0 in an exciting game of attacking soccer by bothj sides.
Sebastian van Oppen, striker of Namib High was chosen as the FNB Classic Clash Man of the Match while David Shatika of Namib High who also excels in academics and chess was the Namib Mills Hero.
Seibeb wins Africa Safari Lodge MB Festival
Submitted by editor on Mon, 06/17/2013 - 16:40.Costa Seibeb won the Open Men’s category at the Africa Safari Lodge Mountain Bike Festival on Saturday.
Seibeb won the 75km race which took place in the vicinity of Mariental in a time of 2 hours 27 minutes 50 seconds, to finish 9 seconds ahead of Martin Freyer, while Heinrich Kohne came third overall in 2:28:15.
Under 16 cyclist Tristan de Lange followed more than two minutes behind in 2:30:35, while Michael Pretorius came fifth in 2:30:39.
Malawi squad for Cosafa Cup

Coach Eddingtone Ng’onamo has included the likes of veterans Fisher Kondowe and Davie Banda, together with an exciting mix of young rising stars in the Malawi game.
Prolific goal scorer Rodrick Gonani will be an exciting player to watch, while new faces include Silver Strikers captain Lucky Malata, midfielders Patrick Gunde (Civo United) and Junior Chimodzi (Silver Stars).
