The Skorpion Zinc U/17 Cup quarterfinals were decided on Saturday morning as Oshana, Khomas and Oshikoto recorded victories for their passage into the semifinals later in the day at the Keetmanshoop Stadium.
Khomas went into their Group A match against Omaheke Region needing a draw to advance as Group winners.
After a 1-1 halftime score Omaheke took the lead through Donald Kazondanga , but moments later Khomas were back on level terms via the boot of striker Jandjamuje Maharero.
SA Students beat Welwitschias 50-39

Namibia’s Welwitschias suffered a 50-39 defeat in their friendly match against the South African Universities in Windhoek on Saturday.
After opening up a comfortable 33-13 lead at halftime, the students stretched their lead to 45-20 before a late comeback by the Welwitschias gave the scoreline a bit of respectability.
The SA Students scored eight tries with left wing JP Lewis scoring a hattrick, while hooker martin Ferreira scored two and right wing JR Esterhuizen and props Stephan Hamman and Roy Godfrey scored one each.
Upsets galore in Round 20

Round 20 of NPL saw some big upsets as the log leaders Black Africa and African Stars both lost, while the bottom two teams Mighty Gunners and Rundu Chiefs both won to close the gap on the rest of the pack.
Black Africa lost 4-1 to Tigers on Friday, but African Stars spurned a great chance to take the lead when they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Eleven Arrows.
Bottom of the log Rundu Chiefs meanwhile beat Ramblers 1-0 at home to climb to 19 points, the same as Mighty Gunners who beat Blue Waters 3-1 in Walvis Bay.
Arrows shock African Stars

Eleven Arrows shocked African Stars with a 1-0 victory at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Saturday to throw the title race wide open again.
Emil Dorgeloh scored the winner, heading in a corner 10 minutes from time to give Arrows an unlikely victory after Stars had done most of the attacking throughout the match.
The result means that Black Africa, who also lost to Tigers on Friday night, remain one point ahead of Stars at the top of the log.

Cosafa Cup draw

Namibia was drawn to play Tanzania, Mauritius and Seychelles in Group B of the 2013 Cosafa Cup when the draw was made in Lusaka, Zambia on Friday night.
The draw was made in Lusaka on Friday night, where the 14 competing nations in the Southern African champions learnt their fate for the tournament that will take place in Lusaka from July 6-20.
The eight lowest seeded sides according to the April FIFA World Rankings were pooled into two groups of four sides each.
