Cohen favourites for fistball title

Cohen Fistball Club 3 reaffirmed their status as the overwhelming favourites for the Bank Windhoek Namibia National Fistball B league title with another three wins in the third round of matches on Saturday.
The day was marred by windy weather conditions, which made the games very tough for all the participating teams.
Cohen FC 3 is now the only unbeaten team in the various leagues this season and have built an eight point lead at the top of the log over their closest rivals.
Mannetti in confident mood

Ricardo Mannetti, who was thrown into the deep end as the Brave Warriors coach following the resignation of Roger Palmgren, remained upbeat following Namibia’s training session on Monday morning.
Namibia take on the African champions Nigeria in a World Cup qualifier at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Wednesday night, with Mannetti’s appointment only confirmedby the NFA on Sunday evening.
He said Palmgren’s resignation came as a shock, but remained focussed on the job at hand.
Immanuel Shifidi and Concordia victorious

The FNB Classic Clashes moved to Windhoek last weekend with two soccer matches taking place in the capital.
Immanuel Shifidi and Jan Jonker clashed at the Katutura Multipurpose Youth Centre, with Shifidi winning the match 4-3 on penalties after a goalless draw.
Delta meanwhile lost 2-1 at home against Concordia, after trailing 1-0 at halftime.
Strong start by Windhoek Gymnasium

Windhoek Gymnasium made their presence felt with an impressive display in the first round of the Bank Windhoek Schools Netball Super League last Saturday at the Dr. Lemmer Sports Field in Rehoboth.
The private school won both its matches, beating the hosts Dr. Lemmer 70-8 and Windhoek High School (WHS) 48-16.
WHS however managed to beat Dr Lemmer 54-16.
There were also matches taking place in Stampriet where Elnatan Private School hosted Tsumeb Gymnasium, Edugate and Keetmanshoop Private School.
Namibia eighth in Chile

Namibia finished eighth at the Junior World Rugby Trophy in Chile after losing 40-29 to Uruguay in the seventh place playoff on Sunday.
A stronger scrum allowed Uruguay to take an early 20-3 lead and right after halftime, winger Andrés Rocco got his second try, leaving the score at 27-3.
Namibia however did not want to exit with a big loss and got back into the game with passion.
A yellow card proved costly for the eventual winners, who saw their lead reduced to a solitary point after Namibia scored 26 unanswered points thanks to four tries.
