NDF teams call the shots

The men and women’s teams of the Namibia Defence Force are currently both leading their respective logs in the Bank Windhoek National Volleyball League.
In last weekend’s matches in Windhoek, the female soldiers easily won all their matches against DTS and Polytechnic of Namibia (PON), 3:0 each.
The NDF women now lead the log with 12 points, three points ahead of their nearest rivals, SKW.
In the Men’s League, NDF won their match against DTS, 3:0.

Namibia’s Brave Warriors take on a star studded Super Eagles side at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Wednesday night with victory a must if they hope to keep their faint hopes alive of qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Nigeria has brought a formidable side that includes international stars like Victor Enyeama of Maccabi Tel Aviv, Jon Obi Mikel of Chelsea, Efe Ambrose of Celtic, Ahmed Musa of CSKA Moscow, Brown Ideye of Dynamo Kiev and Anthony Ujah of FC Koln.
Cosafa Cup focus - Malawi

Malawi have seen a marked improvement in their performances over the last few years, leading to them qualifying for the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations.
They exited the tournament in Angola in the first round, just as they had done in their only other visit to the continental showpiece in 1984.
Long-standing coach Kinnah Phiri has recently been replaced by Edington Ng'onamo.

Malawi have been runners-up in two Cosafa Cup competitions, reaching the final for the first time in 2002 and then making the decider again the following year.
Namibia beat Senegal

Namibia overcame their first hurdle in Senegal when they beat the hosts 35-12 in the CAR Africa Cup Division 1B tournament on Tuesday.
After a tight first half that saw Namibia taking a 13-9 lead at the break, they stepped up the pressure to eventually run in a total of four tries.
Flyhalf Theuns Kotze added 13 points through three penalties and two conversions, while Justin Nel added one conversion.
Senegal opened the scoring but Kotze drew Namibia level before David Philander went over for the opening try to put Namibia ahead for the first time.
Challenging International Enduro Event

The International Bank Windhoek Enduro race on Saturday created a huge amount of interest, while riders were thoroughly tested on a challenging track.
The track, which included all kinds of terrain, was challenging enough. With the wind and the dust, the track became just too much for some of the riders and their iron horses.
The section that created the most excitement for the spectators took the riders through parts of the dilapidated mining processing plan of the Uis mine.
