South Africa wins 7 out of 8 titles

South Africa emerged as the leading nation at the Southern African Zonal Junior Championships in Windhoek on January 17, winning seven of the eight titles on offer.
In the Boys Under 16 singles final the fourth seeded Jason Blakey Milner of South Africa beat the second seeded Grant Ivy of South Africa 6-3, 6-4.

Six points deducted from Cymot SKW

Namibia Premier League club Cymot SKW have been deducted six points pending the outcome of a disciplinary hearing into the fielding off an unregistered player.
SKW fielded striker Arend von Stryk in its first matches of the season against Blue Waters and Eleven Arrows on November 13 and 14, 2006.

Pirates fire coach Isaacs

Namibian Premier League side Orlando Pirates have fired head coach Brian Isaacs, according to a statement from the club.
Isaacs will be replaced by another seasoned coach Ali Akan. Akan has coached several Namibia Premier League clubs, like Civics, Tigers, Black Africa and Blue Waters. This season he coached South African Emvula League team City Pillars before recently being sacked.

South Africa dominated during the semifinals of the Southern African Junior Tennis Championships in Windhoek on Tuesday, January 16 and will be represented in all the singles final matches on January 17.

In the Boys Under 16 category the top seeded Admire Mushonga of Zimbabwe beat Thierry Rakotoarivony of Madagascar 6-0, 6-3, while the fourth seeded Jason Blakey Milner of South Africa beat Charlie Bohloko of Lesotho 6-1, 6-0.
