Taibu is Namibiaâ??s top batsman

Namibian cricketers featured prominently in the batting averages of the recently completed SAA Challenge three-day provincial competition and the SAA Cup One Day competition.
In the SAA Challenge competition, Tatenda Taibu was Namibiaâ??s top batsman, scoring 715 runs in seven matches at an average of 59,58. His top score was 165, while his total of 715 was the fourth highest by a batsman in the competition.

Branch dominates motocross event

Ross Branch of Botswana dominated the second leg of the Namibian Motocross Series at the Gallina Race Track outside Windhoek on Saturday.
Branch won both heats in the Open Class as well as the King of the Dirt to win the Wesbank Trophy for the second time this season. He was also the overall winner of the first leg of the championships at the Gallina track in February.

Street named in honour of Davin sisters

A new street name in honour of the deceased Davin sisters Suzelle and Janine was inaugurated close to the entrance of the Namibia Tennis Stadium in Olympia, Windhoek on Saturday.
In an emotional ceremony the president of the NTA Bob Mould led the tributes for the sisters who were two of Namibiaâ??s top young sportswomen. Suzelle was ranked third in Africa as an Under 18 junior tennis player, while Janine represented Namibia at both tennis and hockey.

Namibia comes seventh at Giro

Team Namibia came seventh out of 23 teams at the Giro del Capo which ended with the sixth stage, the Pick â??n Pay Cape Argus Cycle Tour on Sunday.
It was Namibiaâ??s best performance yet at the Giro del Capo and saw them beating several professional teams as well as all the national teams in the competition. The other national teams that competed included Belgium, Egypt, Algeria and Zimbabwe.

Civics go three points clear

Civics have opened up a gap of three points at the top of the MTC Namibia Premier league after picking up maximum points over the weekend.
On March 9 they beat Black Africa 2-0 and two days later beat Orlando Pirates by the same score to move up to 27 points after 13 matches.
