Namibian mountainbiker Mannie Heymans and his South African partner Ben Melt Swanepoel finished eighth overall in the ABSA Cape Epic on March 31.
The eight-stage race covered a total distance of 886km as well as 15 045 vertical metres, through various towns in the Cape. It started in Knysna on March 24, and traversed towns like Uniondale, Oudtshoorn, Ladismith, Barrydale and Montagu, before finishing in Lourensford on March 31.
Namibian cyclist Dan Craven came 8th at the GP Valloton Road Race in Swizerland on April 1.

During the week I could feel that my form had really picked up and was looking forward to the race. An upset stomach put a bit of a dampener on things but I was able to work through it and live to tell the tale, even though I ate less than half of what I usually would have in a 180km race.
Ramblers, DTS draw
Ramblers and DTS played to a 3-all draw in an Indoor Hockey menâ??s Premier League match on Monday night.
In a match of few highlights, Ramblers took a 3-0 lead, only to see DTS stage a strong comeback to grab a draw.

Last year Johannes took the Cape by storm when she won the womenâ??s 21km race in a new record time of 73 minutes and 35 seconds. It heralded in a great year, during which she won numerous events in South Africa, including the South African 10km and 20km Championships.
National coach Ben Bamfuchile has announced a strong squad to take on a Shadow Team at the annual Namibia Newspaper Cup competition in Keetmanshoop on Sunday, April 8.
