Great sprint by Vries at Fredericks Invitational

Former Namibian Sherwin Vries won the menâ??s 100m in a fast time of 10,32 seconds at the Coca Cola Frank Fredericks Invitational Meeting on Friday night.
Vries, who now runs for South Africa, recently won the double at the South African Athletics Championships in Durban in the relatively slow times of 10,56 seconds for the 100m and 20,77 seconds for the 200m.

The Hitman looking for World Title Eliminator

Paulus The Hitman Mosesâ?? promoter Nestor Tobias is trying to arrange a fight against a top ten ranked opponent which will see the Hitman shooting up the World rankings, possibly to number one.
At a press conference on Thursday, Tobias said he was currently negotiating with South African boxer Ali Funeka, who is the World Boxing Councilâ??s Intercontinental champion, and the European lightweight champion, Yuri Romanov from Belarus.

Civics looking for third title

Civics take on Cymot SKW and African Stars in league matches this weekend knowing that victories will bring them ever closer to their third league title in a row.
Civics currently lead the log with 33 points from 15 matches, just a point ahead of Kingsley Ramblers, but with two games in hand. After this weekendâ??s matches most teams will only have three matches remaining in the league and if Civics collect maximum points they will be virtually unstoppable.

Squad selected for World Championships

Namibiaâ??s final squad for the Inline Hockey World Championships was named after the Badgers Inline Hockey Tournament in mid-March and was recently awarded official colours by Ben Naobeb from the Namibian Sports Commission.
