Bassingthwaighte wins Dirty Harry MTB Marathon
Submitted by editor on Tue, 04/17/2007 - 10:00.Namibian mountain biker Marc Bassingthwaighte won the Mazda Drifter Dirty Harry Mountain Bike Marathon in Harrismith, South Africa on April 14.
Bassinghtwaighte beat South Africaâ??s top mountain bikers and his Namibian compatriots Mannie Heymans and Arno Viljoen to win the marathon over 75km in a time of 3 hours 15 minutes 46 seconds.
Louw wins African Triathlon Champs
Submitted by editor on Tue, 04/17/2007 - 09:12.Namibian junior triathlete Abraham Louw excelled to win the Under 15 Male category at the African Triathlon Championships which recently took place in Mauritius.
Louw dominated his race from the start to run out a comfortable winner. He completed the 400m swim, 10km cycle and 2,5km run in a total time of 34 minutes 14 seconds, finishing more than two minutes ahead of the second triathlete.
Otjiwarongo upstage Windhoek
Submitted by editor on Mon, 04/16/2007 - 14:59.Otjiwarongo Football Club dominated a junior soccer tournament in Windhoek on Saturday, winning both the Under 15 and Under 17 competitions.
The tournament was organized and hosted by St Paulâ??s College and saw school teams and soccer academies competing in the two age group categories.
Unam, WOB showdown fails to materialize
Submitted by editor on Mon, 04/16/2007 - 14:25.The long awaited showdown between defending champions Unam and log leaders Windhoek Old Boys on Friday night failed to materialize after no referees turned up to officiate at the match.
It was not the first time this season that hockey fixtures had to be rearranged after officials failed to turn up for matches.
United beat Unam 38-3

Playing at the Unam Stadium, Unam did well to match United in the first half as the visitors took a 14-3 lead at halftime.
