Gladiators to play South Africa
Submitted by editor on Mon, 05/07/2007 - 14:14.Namibiaâ??s national womenâ??s football team, the Brave Gladiators will play their South African counterparts, Banyana Banyana in a friendly match in Johannesburg on Sunday, May 13.
The womenâ??s football desk of the Namibia Football Association announced that South Africa had invited Namibia for the friendly match, to help the South Africans in their preparations for the All Africa Games as well as their second round Olympic qualifying match against Zimbabwe.
Bassingthwaighte 40th in Germany
Submitted by editor on Mon, 05/07/2007 - 13:17.Namibian cyclist Marc Basssingthwaighte came 40th at the Heubach Mountain Bike Cross Country Race on May 6.
The race formed part of the German Cross Country series and saw some of the world's leading mountain bikers participating.
Hoffmann comes second in Germany
Submitted by editor on Mon, 05/07/2007 - 11:20.Erik Hoffmann, Namibian national cyclist riding in Europe for professional Team 3C Group-Lamonta, finished second on May 6 in the Baden-Württemberg Championships in Ellmendingen in German.
The 26-year old watched as Martin Lang of Team Aqua-Römers beat him across the line. "It's a pity, I was eager to win, but Martin Lang was the stronger sprinter today", conceded Hoffmann.
Black Africa beat Stars

The former Blue Waters striker received a fine through pass from Jerome Louis to slot the ball past Max Mbaeva just before halftime.
Suburbs book Premier League final ticket

Suburbs gained a crucial bonus point after scoring five tries to overtake Wanderers into second position on the log. In one of the tightest finishes in recent years, Suburbs joined Reho Falcons at the top of the log on 20 points, followed by Wanderers on 19 and United on 18 points.
