DTS win grudge match

DTS beat Unam 3-2 in a hard fought womenâ??s Premier League match on February 11, 2006.
It lived up to its pre-match billing of a grudge match, with DTSâ?? new striker Frieda Kalondo turning out against her former team mates for the first time. Kalondo had a tough time, especially from Unamâ??s tight marking defender Irene Handura, and was eventually sin-binned in the second half after retaliating.
Unamâ??s coach Erwin Handura was also in the dog box. He was yellow carded in the first half for abusive language, and when he refused to leave the coachâ??s area, the referee sent Unam captain Theodora Amatjira off for five minutes.
In a hard fought match both teams gave it their all. Kalondo opened the scoring from a short corner, but Unam equalized when Amutjira replied from another short corner.
DTS stretched their lead through goals by Chinley Nel and Andrea Beiter in the second half, and although Christella Swartbooi replied with a superb individual goal for Unam, it was too late and DTS held on for a 3-2 win.
