Rumble in the Namib

The highlight of this weekend’s sporting activities takes place at the Windhoek Country Club on Saturday evening when Paulus “The Hitman” Moses will defend his WBA lightweight title against Takehiro Shimada of Japan.
There will be several other fights on the undercard including two Pan African title fights. Tickets have been going like hotcakes but there might still be a few left at the Namibia Boxing Control Board.

MTC Rugby League

The MTC Rugby Premier League continues with two crucial matches on Saturday.
Log leaders United take on defending champions Western Suburbs at Suburbs Park, while rejuvenated Wanderers host Reho Falcon. Both matches are scheduled to start at 15h00.

Netball

The Khomas Netball League continues with two top of the log matches scheduled to take place at the Khomasdal courts on Saturday.
Orlando Pirates take on Black Africa in the Katutura derby at 13h30, while United take on Civics at 15h00.

Field Hockey

The Namibian Field Hockey league continues with men and women’s Premier league matches scheduled for the Doc Jubber field in Olympia on Saturday.
In the men’s Premier League, DTS take on Polytech at 13h00, while Unam take on Windhoek Old Boys at 15h50. In a women’s Premier league match Unam take on WOB at 14h25.

15km Road Running Championships

The annual PricewaterhouseCoopers 15km road running and road walking championships will start on Saturday at 07:00 at the United Sports Club.
Cash prizes starting from N$500.00 for a first place will be up for grabs. Athletes are invited to participated and a 5km fun event has been included for the less serious

Second Rhythmic Qualifying competition

The second Namibia Gymnastics Federation Rhythmic Qualifying competition takes place at the SKW Club on Friday and Saturday.
The competition starts at 13h00 on Friday, with the prizegiving for Level 6 and 7 scheduled for 18h30.
The competition continues at 08h00 on Saturday with the prizegiving for Level 1 – 10 and the Junior and Senior Olympic categories scheduled to take place at 18h00.

FNB Classic Clashes

Delta Secondary School will host Concordia in an FNB Classic Clashes match on Saturday.
Their U15 teams play at 10h00 to be followed by their U17 teams at 11h00. The main match for the schools’ first teams is at 13h00.
