Okahandja Beauties maintained their unbeaten record in the Khomas Women’s Football League but were pushed all the way before beating Poly Babes 2-0 last weekend.

It was the first time that Beauties had received stiff opposition this season after racking up 45 goals in their four previous matches against sub standard opposition.
The victory puts Beauties at the top of the log with 15 points from five matches and a goal difference of 46 goals.

Second placed Rehoboth Queens, who have 9 points from 3 matches, are also still unbeaten after beating Unam Bokkies 4-0.

The Jacky Shipanga Academy team, which mainly consists of U13 and U15 players, beat Shifidi High School 2-0 and Windhoek College of Education 3-0 to move up to third spot on the log. They now have 7 points from 5 matches.

Polytech Babes, WCE and Shifidi High School are all on 3 points, followed by Unam Bokkies on 1 and Angels United who still have to open their account.

Okahandja Beauties players dominate the top goalscorers’ list with five of their players leading the list.

Kleintjie Fredericks is the leading goalscorer with 12 goals from five matches, with Stella Williams follows closely behind on 11 goals.

Salome Iyambo is third on 5 goals, followed by Marelle Polster and Charmaine Swartbooi on 4 goals each.
