Khomas Nampol and SKW won the men and women’s titles at the Namibian National Volleyball Championships in Windhoek over the weekend.
In the men’s final, Khomas Nampol beat Northern Namibia SV, who caused the upset of the tournament by beating Namibia Defence Force A in the semifinals. NDF A finished third and SKW fourth.
SKW’s women however made up for the disappointing performance of their male counterparts, when they beat Khomas Nampol in the women’s final, while the NDF won the bronze medal.
As Namibia’s national club champions, Khomas Nampol and SKW have qualified for next year’s Zone Six Club Championships.
This tournament was the last indoor volleyball event for the 2008 season. Great volleyball action is however still expected on 27 and 28 December on the beach in Swakopmund, when five teams from South Africa will challenge Namibia’s top players
