SA thrash Namibia 12-0

Namibia?s men?s team were hammered 12-0 by South Africa in their final African Cup of Nations hockey match on October 7.
It was Namibia?s fourth consecutive loss at the event and ended all hopes they had of making the play-offs for the top three positions.
South Africa were superior in all departments and quickly rattled up a 7-0 lead at halftime.
Namibia however defended courageously after the break and the hosts could only add to their tally 20 minutes into the second half. But then, Namibia?s defence once again crumbled as the South Africans rattled in five more goals to record an emphatic victory.
Despite the defeat, Namibian coach Johan Weyhe praised his team.
?I thought Steven Abel had a great game in defence, as did Joseph Kashimako in midfield and Reagan Graig in attack,? he said.
In the play-offs on October 8, South Africa and Egypt will contest the first two places, while Ghana and Nigeria will contest the third and fourth places.
Meanwhile, Namibia?s women?s team still has a chance of winning a bronze medal, since they will play Nigeria in the third and fourth position play-off on October 8. South Africa and Ghana will contest the first and second position play-off.
