Oliver and Wilko Risser â?? Rising stars

Brothers Oliver and Wilko Risser have become firm favourites with the Namibian public after some strong performances for the Brave Warriors during their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Oliver missed the first match against Kenya due to injury, but soon made his presence felt when he won his 21st cap against Zimbabwe. Against Guinea as well, Oliverâ??s hard tackles in midfield won Namibia numerous balls while he kept a firm check on Guineaâ??s dangermen Pascal Feindouno and Ismael Bangoura.

Wilko made his first full appearance for the Brave Warriors against Kenya, after coming on as a substitute against the DR Congo last year. It was a dream debut as Wilko struck a brilliant volley for Namibiaâ??s opening goal in their 2-1 victory.

Both players are plying their trade in the German fourth division, Oliver with Hannoverâ??s reserves and Wilko with Schalkeâ??s reserves. Both, however, could be on the move, with Oliver keen to join a club in South Africaâ??s Premier Soccer League, while Wilko is negotiating with several German clubs.
