Ramblers beat Fedics

Ramblers beat Fedics United 2-0 on Saturday to maintain their lead at the top of the Premier League log, but it took a long time before they managed to break Fedicsâ?? defence down.

Raymond Awaseb opened the stalemate in the 77th minute and a second goal by Samson John a minute from fulltime gave Ramblers a somewhat flattering victory.

Fedics had several chances of their own, especially through Ashley Jossop in the first half.
He had an early shot saved and then dribbled through the defence only to blast his shot over the bar.

Lotten Swartz had another great chance, when he drew Ramblers keeper Lukas Hashiti off his line, but with an open goal gaping he shot wide of the target.

The impressive Jossop had a few more chances, with one fine volley just over the top of the bar.

Ramblers were content to soak up the pressure and launch the odd counterattack, using Jeremia Baisako effectively down the left wing.

Samson John shot over the bar after latching onto a Baisako cross, while a fine volley by Bernadine Mbilizi just missed the target.

After the break Ramblers captain Michael Pienaar had a great chance, but Fedics keeper Virgil Vries brought off a good save, and then two minutes later Roberto Krohne was put clear for Fedics, but blasted his shot over the bar.

Ramblers substitute Raymond Awaseb finally broke the deadlock when he broke through some poor defending to slot the ball into the net.

Awaseb had another great chance, heading wide from close range, but Samson John put the issue beyond doubt when he beat the offside trap to beat the outrushing Vries.
