13-year-old Quinton Delie has been Namibia?s top performer at the All Africa Junior Swimming Championships in Mauritius.
After the third day of competition, Delie has been Namibia?s sole medal winner, winning three bronze medals in the Boys Under 14 category, while he also set four new Namibian age group records.
Swimmers from 15 African countries are participating at the championships, while Namibia is being represented by a team of 17 swimmers.
Delie won bronze medals in the 50m butterfly event, the 200m freestyle event and the 200m individual medley event.
His new records came in the 50m freestyle event where he twice lowered the record with times of 27,30 and 27,14 seconds, and the 200m freestyle event with a time of 2:11,03.
Corinna Wahl also set a new Namibian 50m freestyle record of 29,75 for girls Under 16, while the Namibian Under 16 girls team set two relay records. They set a new time of 4:34,94 for the 4x100m relay and 9:49,27 for the 4x200m relay.
Namibian swimmers reached a total of 38 finals, while 81 new personal best times were established by Namibian swimmers.
