Ailing Brave Warriors coach Ben Bamfuchile passed away last night in his native Zambia, where he was recovering from a mysterious illness.
His wife broke the bad news to the Brave Warriors team manager Tim Isaacs on Wednesday, December 27 â?? the same day he was scheduled to report for duty in Namibia.
Bamfuchile, who ensured Namibiaâ??s qualification to the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ghana next year, reportedly died in a Lusaka hospital.
According to Isaacs, the news of Bamfuchileâ??s death came as a shock to them, even knowingly that he was sick.
Said Isaacs: â??â??Benâ??s death is not only a loss to his family, friends and the people of Zambia, but a big loss for Namibia football as well.â??â??
The Brave Warriors also returned to camp yesterday and will depart for Cairo on Monday to face Egypt.
The burial arrangements are still not known.
