Namibia beat Uganda by 26 runs in their final group match at the ICC World Cricket League Division 2 on November 30.
The victory ensures that Namibia will play out for the third place and qualify for the Dubai 2009 tournament where the top teams will go through to the 2011 Cricket World Cup.
Namibia however had to dig deep to beat Uganda at the CCD field. On a pitch with surprising bounce, Namibia were soon in trouble with JB Burger out for 6 and Sean Silver out for 13.
Dawid Botha was dismissed for a duck and for once Gerrie Snyman didnâ??t get going and was dismissed for 5, to leave Namibia reeling at 28/4.
The Kotze brothers, Deon and Bjorn started a revival with Bjorn eventually out for 22 and Deon out for 16, while Nicolaas Scholtz added 24.
Michael Durand (1) and Tobie Verwey (2) went cheaply, but a great knock by Kola Burger down the order ensured that Namibiaâ??s total looked a bit more respectable.
Burger hit 46 off 34 balls, which included four sixes and one four as Namibia reached 145 runs all out.
The total didnâ??t look too big, but Namibiaâ??s bowlers responded magnificently, with Gerrie Snyman dismissing Joel Olweny for a duck.
Namibiaâ??s bowlers kept Uganda under pressure and wickets fell regularly. Of Ugandaâ??s batsmen, only opener Arthur Kyobe (22) and tailender Frank Nsubuga (18) reached double figures as Uganda were all out for 118.
Gerrie Snyman continued his great form at the tournament with a great bowling spell, taking 5/36 off 10 overs that won him the man of the match award.
Kola Burger was Namibiaâ??s next best bowler with 2/29.
