United Stars from Rundu maintained their lead in the Northern Stream First Division when they picked up a maximum six points over the weekend.
On November 24, they beat Epupa 11 Stars 2-1 at the Ruacana Sport Stadium and the following day they beat Onambule United 2-0 at the Tsandi Sport Stadium.
United Stars now lead the log with a maximum nine points from three matches.
OFC Life Fighters of Otjiwarongo are second on six points from two matches after their match against Robber Chanties had to be cancelled on November 24.
According to Mark Muecke of Life Fighters, the match could not be played because the Otjozondjupa second division team Eleven Brothers FC was using the field at Otjiwarongoâ??s Mokati Stadium, despite the fact that Life Fighters had booked the field.
â??It has been decided that in future, no second division games will be allowed to take place when OFC Life Fighters book the Mokati Stadium, to prevent future conflicts like this,â? Muecke said.
â??A full report of what happened, including the refusal of the Robber Chanties coach to play 45 minutes later, was sent to the executive committee of the Northern Stream First Division,â? Muecke added.
Life Fighters second
Life Fighters however beat Golden Bees 1-0 at the Paresis Sports Field on November 25 to stay in second position on the log. The winning goal came shortly before halftime when Esau Nakurua crossed into the box and Golden Beesâ?? keeper misjudged the flight of the ball and it ended in the back of the net.
Chief Santos of Tsumeb are lying third on five points from three matches.
On November 24 they beat Cuca Tops 1-0 at home and the next day they drew 1-all against Bingo at their Oscar Norich Stadium in Tsumeb.
