Richard Wolman failed to qualify for the Boys 100m final at the World Youth Athletics Championships in Marrakesh, Morocco on July 14 when he came sixth in his semi-final heat in a time of 10,89 seconds.
On July 13, Wolman came second in his first round heat in a time of 10,83 seconds to qualify for the semi-finals.
Wolman also failed to qualify for the boys long jump final, after coming 17th in Group A on July 14. Wolman cleared a distance of 6,49 metres, which was way below the 7,30m qualifying standard for the final.
Wolman?s first jump was a foul, while he cleared 6,44m with his second and 6,49m with his third jump.
Another Namibian, Rinus Loots, also failed to reach the final of the long jump after coming 19th in Group B with a distance of 6,36m. He cleared 6,24m with his first jump, 6,36m with his second and 5,93m with his third jump.
Namibian javelin thrower Johan Venter also failed to reach the final after the first round on July 14. Venter came 15th in Group B with a throw of 45,91m which was way below the final qualifying distance of 69m. Venter had two foul throws.
On July 15, Tjipekapora Herunga will compete in the girls? 800m, while Globine Mayova will compete in the girls? 200m on July 16.
