Namibia beat Canada by 8 wickets

Namibia beat Canada by eight wickets in their ICC Intercontinental Cup match at the Wanderers field in Windhoek on Sunday, October 28.

After forcing the follow on, Namibia dismissed Canada for 295 runs in their second innings, leaving a victory target of 102 runs.

Namibia reached the total with the loss of only two wickets, with Raymond van Schoor (2) and Michael Durant (7) going cheaply. JB Burger (44 not out) and Gerrie Snyman (36 not out) however took them to a comfortable victory.

Kotze scores 163

After declaring their first innings at 460/9, Namibia dismissed Canada for 286 and enforced the follow on.

Namibiaâ??s captain Bjorn Kotze top scored with 163 not out, while Nicolaas Scholtz added 64, Tobie Verwey 62 and Kola Burger 47.
In Canadaâ??s first innings, Mohammed Iqbal top scored with 140 runs while Arvindah Kandappah scored 60 not out.

Klazinga gets the breakthrough

Louis Klazinga got an early breakthrough, dismissing Abdul Chaudrey for 15 but Mohammed Iqbal and Trevin Bastiampillai put on 125 runs in a second wicket stand.

It was once again Klazinga who got the breakthrough, dismissing Iqbal for 88 and Bastiampillai for 63, but once they were gone, the rest of Canada's batsmen couldn't deliver much more.

They could only add 103 more runs as Canada was all out for 295 runs in their second innings.

Quaser Ali scored 12, Jason Patraj 13, Sunil Dhaniram 31 and Aftab Shamsudeen 25.
