NamibiaÅ? national cricket team recovered well to reach 313 for the loss of six wickets in their Intercontinental Cup match against Canada on Thursday, October 25.
Namibia batted first but were soon in trouble when JB Burger was dismissed for 9 with the total on 17.
The 17-year-old Raymond van Schoor and Michael Durant rebuilt the innings with a partnership of 59 runs before both were dismissed in short succession.Van Schoor scored 46 and Durant 19.
Gerrie Snyman added a rapid 35, including two fours and two sixes, but Deon Kotze was dismissed for a duck to leave Namibia in trouble at 5/135.
NamibiaÅ? lower order batsmen however staged a fine fightback to bring them right back into the game.
Nicolaas Scholtz scored 64 runs and at the end of play Bjorn Kotze and Tobie Verwey had taken the score to 313/6. The pair put on an unbroken seventh wicket partnership of 85 runs, with Kotze not out on 87 and Verwey not out on 49.
Durand Suraine was CanadaÅ? best bowler, taking three wickets for 54 runs.
