Namibia beat Taiwan

Namibia won their final group match 8-7 against Taiwan at the World Inline Hockey Championships in Kuipo, Finland on July 12.
Namibia had to withstand a late onslaught by Taiwan, but they manged to hold out and record their first victory at the tournament.
Taiwan opened the scoring, but Michael Ellinger equalised in the 7th minute. Two minutes later Cello Baas put Namibia in the lead for the first time.
Namibia kept on attacking and two quick goals by Clive Vermaak and Cello Baas within a minute gave them a commanding 4-1 lead.
Taiwan however replied with two goals in the 22nd and 24th minutes to reduce the gap to 4-3, but Ollie Lohmeier and Riyaan Ely once again stretched Namibia?s lead with goals in the 26th and 28th minutes.
A minute later Taiwan pulled a goal back, but Michael Lohmeier gave Namibia a 7-3 lead in the 31st minute, just for Taiwan to immediately strike back to make it 7-4. In the 34th minute Jorg Guther increased Namibia?s lead to 8-4, but Taiwan made a strong comeback with two goals in the final three minutes. It was however not enough as Namibia hung on for an 8-7 victory.
It was Namibia?s first victory at the Inline Hockey World Championships after they lost their opening group matches to Brazil 7-3 and to Japan 6-3.
