SKWâ??s menâ??s side and DTSâ?? women won the Namibia National Volleyball Club Championships at the SKW Hall in Windhoek on Sunday, September 30.
In the womenâ??s final, DTS beat Elegance in four sets to lift the trophy. DTS won the first set 25-20, but Elegance came back strongly to take the second set 25-23. That however, was the end of their challenge as DTS won the next two sets 25-11 and 25-17 to win the title.
SKW beat Elegance in Menâ??s Final
In the menâ??s final, Elegance once again ended up on the losing side, going down 3-1 to SKW.
Elegance won the first set 25-22 but SKW stepped up a gear and took the next three sets 25-14, 25-23 and 25-16 to lift the trophy for the second year in a row.
In the menâ??s competition, DTS came third, while Khomas Nampol came third in the womenâ??s competition.
As Namibiaâ??s national club champions, SKW and DTS will represent Namibia in the 2008 Zone Six Club Championships.
The SKW team consisted of the attackers, Achim Lück, Rector Rehabeam, Jaime Duarte and Armin Diemer; the blockers Mwita Sikopo, Walter Katjiveri and Bernd Ahrens; the setters Kamwi Sezuni and Antero Epifanio; and the libero, Heiko Diehl.
