Namibia comfortably beat Papua New Guinea by 98 runs in Newforge, Ireland on July 2 to stay in contention for a spot at the 2007 World Cup.
After losing their opening match by a mere two runs, the spirit in the camp was down, but Namibia produced a professional display against PNG.
?The guys have done well to lift their spirits after the loss to Canada, but we'll have to beat both Scotland and Holland to secure a place in the semis,? JB Burger said.
?The pressure is a bit higher, but we?re still positive that we?ll qualify,? he added.
Namibia batted first and were all out for 252 in the 50th over.
Danie Keulder scored 11 and Sarel Burger a duck, but JB Burger (52) and Louis Burger (45) added 66 for the third wicket.
Riaan Walters (1), Gerrie Snyman (7) and Stephan Swanepoel (16) struggled to get going, but Deon Kotze (34) and especially Kola Burger (52) came to the rescue with some lusty hitting down the order. Bjorn Kotze was run out for 2 and Hugo Ludik not out on 5.
With Sarel Burger and Gerrie Snyman then leading the way, Namibia?s bowlers pinned PNG?s batsmen down. Burger took 3/20 and Snyman 1/28 as PNG?s top-order crumbled to leave them reeling at 35/5.
There was a bit of a kick in the tail with Morea scoring 41, but Namibia was always in control and dismissed PNG for 154. Namibia?s other wicket takers were Kola Burger (1/22), Louis Burger (1/26), Danie Keulder (1/18) and Deon Kotze (1/9).
Kola Burger won the man of the match award.
?The guys are playing brilliant cricket with someone always putting their hand up and producing the goods,? JB Burger said.
Namibia now play Holland in a do-or-die match on July 4. At the last World Cup in 2003, Holland comfortably beat Namibia by 64 runs, but in their last meeting in 2004, Namibia turned the tables with a 71-run victory.
