Strydom wins opening doubles match

Namibian junior tennis star Jurgens Strydom won his first round doubles match at Junior Wimbledon on June 29.
Strydom teamed up with Christopher Llewellyn of Great Britain to beat Anas Fattar of Morocco and Aly El Sherbini of Egypt in a tight three-setter 4-6, 7-6, 6-4.
It was Strydom?s first victory at Junior Wimbledon following his first round singles defeat to third seed Leonardo Mayer of Argentina on June 27. On that occasion Strydom pushed Mayer all the way before losing a titanic three-setter 6-4, 5-7, 6-4.
Strydom and Llewellyn?s doubles victory was quite a feat as their opponents were ranked higher than them. Fattar is currently ranked 71st on the world junior rankings, while Strydom is ranked 116th and Llewellyn 201st.
Strydom and Llewellyn now face Dylan Arnould and Jamie Hunt of the United States, who beat the seventh seeded pair of Leonardo Mayer and Emiliano Massa of Argentina in the first round.
