DTS beat Rehoboth

DTS beat Rehoboth 2-0 in a men?s Premier League hockey match on June 25 to move up to third position on the log.
Rehoboth in their first season in the Premier League, gave a good account of themselves, but DTS? experience proved decisive in the end. With Sedric Makati back in the team following a two-month suspension after a fight with Unam?s Siabonga Martin in the Indoor Hockey League, DTS took control of the midfield and created several chances.
Their first goal was scored by Emile Visser from a short corner, while Darren Martin made it 2-0 from another short-corner before halftime.
DTS had several more chances but failed to convert them into goals. DTS? outstanding players were Steven Abel on the right wing and defender peter Johns, who joined them from the X Team at the start of the season.
For Rehoboth striker Delano Farmer and captain and centre half David Nel caught the eye.
The defending champions Unam are the only unbeaten team and lead the men?s Premier League with 14 points from four matches. Ramblers are second with 13 points from five matches, while DTS are third with 10 points from four matches.
Wanderers are leading the women?s Premier League with 5 points from three matches, followed by DTS (4 points from two matches) and Ramblers (3 points from three matches).
On June 29, Unam take on Civics in a men?s Premier League match and on July 1, Unam take on Windhoek Old Boys in a women?s Premier League match. DTS and Rehoboth will travel to Oranjemund for Premier League matches on July 2.
