Karg century saves Namibia

A great century by Morne Karg enabled Namibia to hold out for a draw against Pakistan A in their final three day match at the Wanderers ground on May 1.
After amassing a 139-run first innings lead, Pakistan had Namibia in trouble at 86/4 in their second innings, before Karg came to the rescue with a great knock. He hit 109 runs from 125 balls, including 10 fours and 5 sixes, which saw Namibia reaching a total of 271/6 when the match was called off.
Karg?s best support came from Deon Kotze 29 and Riaan Walters 28, while Najaf Shah took 3/35 for Pakistan.
Namibia were all out for 190 in their first innings. Opener JB Burger scored 58 off 59 balls, including 6 fours, while Gerrie Snyman scored 37 off 36 balls, including 4 fours.
Pakistan A?s wicket takers were Muhammad Asif (12-3-51-6), Muhammad Irshad (11-1-46-2) and Mansoor Amjad (14-2-40-2).
Pakistan A scored 329 all out in their first innings. Faisal Iqbal top scored with 92 from 128 balls (7x4, 3x6), Hasan Reza scored 58 and Misbah ul-Haq scored 46.
Openers Syed Zaidi and Bazid Khan each scored 33 runs.
Namibia?s wicket takers were Kola Burger (25-4-77-2), Bjorn Kotze (14-1-60-2), Sarel Burger (35-8-117-2), Louis Burger (7-0-27-2), JB Burger (15-7-26-1) and Deon Kotze (5-0-11-1).
In their second innings, Namibia lost their top-order batsmen cheaply before Karg and Louis Burger stabilised the innings.
Openers JB Burger and Stefan Swanepoel each made 18, Hugo Ludik made 8 and Riaan Walters made 28.
Karg won the man of the match award.
