Volleyball League continues at SKW

NDF Women

The Bank Windhoek National Volleyball League continues with matches at the SKW Hall in Olympia on Saturday.

In the Men’s Premier League the Namibia Defence Force have built up a huge lead and have virtually tied up the league title, but the Women’s Premier League is still wide open with the top four teams still in with a chance of winning the title.

In the Women’s Premier League, Khomas Nampol Volleyball Club (KNVC) are leading the log with 30 points, followed by Revivals Volleyball Club (RVC) on 27, DTS on 22 and the NDF on 21.

Log leaders KNVC and second-placed RVC both face tough matches against fourth-placed NDF, which could have a big bearing on the title race. Victory will be essential for both teams if they wish to remain ahead of the pack, but if NDF can pull off two victories they will be right back in the title hunt.

KNVC and RVC will both also be in action against Unam, but the students, who are in sixth position on 10 points, are rank outsiders and are not expected to offer much of a challenge.

In the Men’s Premier League, NDF have taken a huge lead of 14 points over second placed SKW and look set to win the title. They currently lead the log with 26 points, followed by SKW on 12, Unam (12), DTS (10) and KNVC (9).

The NDF will not be in action on Saturday, but the next four teams will all be battling it out for the second spot. Some cracking encounters can be expected between SKW and Unam, and KNVC and Unam.
