A great century by Hasan Reza and another tight bowling display gave Pakistan A a comfortable 111-run victory against Namibia at the Wanderers field on April 24.
Pakistan batted first, with openers Kamran Sajid scoring 25 and Bazid Khan 17.
Hasan and Faisal Iqbal then came together for a great 166-run partnership for the third wicket which swung the match Pakistan?s way.
Faisal was brilliantly caught in the deep by JB Burger off Kola Burger?s bowling for 68 off 86 balls, but Hasan and Misbah ul-Haq continued to pile on the runs. Hasan was eventually not out on 147 off 124 balls, which included 14 fours and 5 sixes, while Misbah was not out on 27 (3 sixes and 1 four).
Namibia?s wicket takers were Kola Burger (1/49 off 10 overs), Bjorn Kotze (1/42 off 10) and Sarel Burger (1/66 off 10).
Namibia started briskly enough but when openers JB Burger and Morne Karg went out, the run rate dropped as Pakistan?s bowlers pinned the Namibians down.
Burger made 30 off 36 balls, while Karg made 12 off 12 balls. Namibia were 3/61 when Riaan Walters went for 7, but Louis Burger and Deon Kotze stabilised the innings with a 46-run partnership.
Louis Burger was eventually out for 32 and Kotze for 34, and after that wickets fell regularly. Gerrie Snyman made a duck, Bjorn Kotze 9 and Sarel Burger 7.
Kola Burger scored a brisk 23 off 17 balls, which included two huge sixes, while Hugo Ludik was not out on 19, as Namibia reached 187/9 off their 50 overs.
Pakistan?s wicket takers were Asif (1/27 off 8 overs), Najaw (2/27 off 10), Mansoor (1/38 off 10), Kamran (1/24 off 5), Riaz (2/22 off 8) and Asher (2/24 off 5).
