A Brave Gladiators squad of 25 players has been named to start preparing for friendly matches against a German student team that will visit Namibia in July.
The NFA Women’s Desk under head coach Jacqueline Shipanga released a list of 25 players who will report for camp on Friday, 22 June at the NFA Soccer House.
The Gladiators will start training on Friday afternoon at 16h00 at the NFA Technical Centre under the watchful eye of NFA appointed in-house coach and head coach of the U20 Brave Warriors Ricardo Mannetti. He will be assisted by Dino Ballotti in the meantime as Shipanga is in Uganda on FIFA assignments.
The team is expected to play two friendly games against the Germans and Namibia might include some of their youth players that are currently touring Germany in the second game as they will be back in the country by then. The first match will be in Windhoek, at a venue still to be confirmed, while the second match will be played in Swakopmund at the Swakopmund Football Club Stadium.
The German students are expected to arrive on 3 July and will play the Gladiators on 5 July, with the second match on 7 July in Swakopmund before returning back to Germany on 11 July.
NFA Technical Director Klaus Stark said the German team will include numerous experienced footballers with players from Bundesliga clubs such as Bayern Munich, Werder Bremen, Stuttgart, Hamburg and Borussia Dortmund and many more.
