Fistball action resumes at SKW

The action in the Bank Windhoek Fistball League will resume on Saturday, 16 June with the National A and B leagues as well as the U18 league to be played at the SKW soccer fields in Windhoek.

Fresh from a resounding win at the Coastal Indoor Fistball Tournament during May, SKW 2 has the top spot in the Bank Windhoek National A League firmly in its sight.

The team will unfortunately be without its main spiker and former national team captain, Michael Baas.

This will put the pressure squarely on the shoulders of the 15-year-old attacking player, Ricco Kühnle-Kreitz, who will need to put in a solid performance to get the SKW second stringers to the top of the table.

League rivals, SFC 1, will be without Patrick Schiep, the guest player from the German Fistball Bundesliga side, TV Weisel, for the first time this season. As a result, the team from Swakopmund will have a tough time defending their third place on the log.

Cohen FC 3 will be hoping to manifest their dominant position in the Bank Windhoek National B League. This is the only team in all of Namibia’s fistball leagues that has not yet lost a game or a set this season.

SFC 2 and SKW 3, who are second and third on the league table, will however set out to change this. Both teams displayed their potential earlier in the season but will need to be on top of their game if they want to start a serious challenge for the top spot.

The first league games will start at 08h00 with the U18 teams. The DANRIC Auto Player Of The Day trophy will be presented at a special ceremony at the SKW clubhouse in the evening.
