The Brave Warriors wrapped up their German tour with a 3-1 win over local side SV Herbern on Wednesday afternoon.

Attacking midfielder Petrus Shitembi of Rundu Chiefs scored two goals before halftime to give Namibia a comfortable lead going at the break.

Coach Bernard Kaanjuka rang the changes in the second half, and it paid off as substitute Hendrik Somaeb struck the third goal to seal their victory.

SV Habern scored a consolation goal late in the match.

Namibia will play Nigeria at the U J Esseune Stadium in Calabar on Sunday, before returning home on Tuesday, 5 June as they prepare to host Kenya on Saturday 9 June at the Windhoek’s Independence Stadium in another World Cup qualifier match.

That match will be followed by the return leg of the 2013 Afcon qualifier match against Liberia also at Windhoek’s Independence Stadium.

The team is however still monitoring the injuries to strikers Jerome Louis and Rudolph Bester. Louis had an ankle injury that was treated and he is recovering well, but Bester’s thigh muscle injury is a concern to the technical team.

The Warriors left for Lagos, Nigeria on Thursday and Louis and Bester will undergo a fitness test on Friday to see whether they can feature in Sunday’s match.
