Namibia, Easterns draw

Namibia and Easterns drew their SAA Challenge match at the Wanderers field on Saturday.
Easterns made a determined effort to reach the winning target of 275 runs, but ran out of wickets and at the end of play had reached 218/8.
Namibia were all out for 313 in their first innings, while Easterns declared their first innings at 270/9.
Namibia then declared at 231/9 in their second innings to leave Easterns a target of 275.

Snyman hits 90

Namibiaâ??s openers JB Burger and Tatenda Taibu both hit 34 runs, while Gerrie Snyman top-scored with 90 runs off 148 balls, which included seven fours and one six.
Of the other batsmen, however, only Stefan Swanepoel (18), Bjorn Kotze (18) and Tobie Verwey (19 not out) could reach double figures. Louis Burger went for 2 and Deon Kotze and Nicolaas Scholtz were each out for a duck.
David Wiese was Easternsâ?? top bowler taking 4/46 off 16 overs, while Revelation Plaatjies (2/52), Ettienne Gerber (2/33) and Brendan Reddy (1/37) were the other wicket takers.

Bodibe scores 53

Easterns tried to chase the winning target but lost wickets regularly and fell behind the run rate. Their top batsmen were Tumelo Bodibe (53), Jaco Booysen (50 off 42 balls) and Brendan Reddy (27) as they reached 218 off 59 overs.
Namibiaâ??s wicket takers were Deon Kotze (4/57 off 16 overs) and Bjorn Kotze (2/36), while Louis Burger and Nicolaas Scholtz each took one wicket.
Namibia received 8,26 bonus points and Easterns 7,78 bonus points.
