SFC and Cohen FC were the winners of the A and B Categories of the Bank Windhoek Fistball Cup held in Swakopmund recently.

SFC won all their matches on their way to the final with the help of former German U21 international and current German Bundesliga player, Nick Trinemeier.

SFC beat the Bank Windhoek National League A champions, SKW 1, in the final to lift the winners’ trophy.

In the final of the B-Category, defending champions, Cohen FC kept a clean sheet in the run up to the final.

They faced SKW 3 in the final, and were the favourites to win the trophy from the start of the match. SKW 3 however gave as good as they got and managed to fight hard to force the match into extra time.

Cohen FC held their nerve during the decisive minutes while SKW 3 failed to hold on to the theirs. Cohen FC soon took the three-point lead that secured them the trophy.

Newcomers Atlantis Sport Cub had a great showing despite finishing last in the B-Category.

Thorsten Schmidt-Dumont was the Junior Player of the Year, Michael Zimmy was the Player of the Year while Arend von Stryk and Michael Rohloff shared the Player of the Day awards.
