The Namibian Defense Force (NDF) Men’s team took an early lead after the first weekend of matches in the NVF Cup.
NDF, the defending champions beat SKW on Saturday, after they already took points against Khomas Nampol Volleyball Club(KNVC).
Although KNVC won the match by 3 sets to 2, the NDF team was declared winner as Nampol had made use of an unregistered player.
The NVF Cup is Namibia’s most prestigious volleyball tournament which takes place over three weekends during October. Only the top five men’s teams and top four ladies teams qualified to participate in this exciting competition.
On Saturday the games took place throughout the day on the Sports grounds of the DTS Sports Club. The results are as follows:
Men:
10:00 DTS Men beat UNAM 3-2 (25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 18-25, 15-10)
16:30 NDF Men beat SKW 3-1 (17-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-15)
Women:
12:30 NDF women beat DTS 3-1 (22-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-9)
14:30 NAMPOL women beat Revivals 3-1 (25-15, 18-25, 25-12, 25-23)
The next game will be played on Friday, October 7 at 19h30, featuring DTS against KNVC. On Saturday, games will take place from 10h00 until 17h00 again at the DTS.
