Cordula Moller of Swakopmund was the overall winner of the Coca Cola National Triathlon Championships in Swakopmund on February 26.
Moller led the championships, which consisted of a 1 500m swim, 40km cycle and 10km run, from start to finish to win in a time of 2:15:39. Another female triathlete, Zoe Mitchell came second overall in 2:21:21, while the first male Andrew Rowles came third overall in 2:24:49.
Charmaine Shannon came fourth overall in 2:27:37, followed by veteran triathlete Christof van Niekerk (2:30:58) and Org van Rensburg (2:33:27).
It was a great performance by Moller, who has become Namibia?s leading triathlete over the past two years. She won the National Championships for the second year and is now aiming to do well at the South African Ultraman Triathlon in Port Elizabeth in March. Last year, at her first attempt at the Comrades Marathon she came 19th in the women?s open category.
