Another successful and exciting race in the Bank Windhoek NMSF Enduro Championship was held on Saturday, 4 September 2010 at the Tony Rust Race Track outside Windhoek.
During this race, the sixth in the 2010 series, the riders had to cover four laps of the 34 kilometer long rounds. A mix of rocks and river beds made for some tough racing. With Ingo Waldschmidt and Björn Bierbrauer tied in the series, and this being the second last race for 2010, they were set for a fierce battle.
Ingo eventually took the win after Björn crashed. Due to this unfortunate incident, the chain of his motorbike came off and he had to push his bike for the last 400 meters. The total time difference between the two contenders was only 1 minute and 19 seconds.
The Open Bikes (Class 2) battle was won by Ingo Waldschmidt, with Björn Bierbrauer second and Heiko Hennes third.
In the National Quad Class a hard charging Jaco Snyman could just not catch up to Michiel Behnke, who reached the finishing line 2 minutes and 91 seconds ahead of him, while Jannes Augustyn came third.
Kai Hennes won the 200 and 250 cc Bikes (Class 1) battle with Claude Brendel taking the second place.
In the Open Quad Class (Class 3) Michiel Behnke came first, followed by Jaco Snyman and Jannes Augustyn.
In the Ladies Quad Class (Class 4) Yana de Jesus took the win to hold off Maike Bochert and Anneke Steenkamp in second and third place respectively.
Johan van der Merwe won the Support Bikes Class, followed by Wanjo Kollmitz and Björn Hohmeier.
Pierre Cronjé won the Support Quad Class, ahead of Dr van Vuuren and Jandre Augustyn in second and third respectively.
In the Masters Bike Class Sven Schneidenberger came first, followed by Stefan Goike and Dirk Trümer.
In the Masters Quads Carsten Hohmeier walked away with the win, ahead of Nicol van Litsenborgh
Katelynne Liebenberg won the Junior Quad Class, followed by Shannon Rowland.
The next and final race in the Bank Windhoek NMSF Enduro Championship 2010 series will take place on 30 October in Karibib.
